Each and everyone of us likes to live a full life. Our definitions of a full life are as unique as ourselves but we all have it in us to do our best. Sometimes we need to make a little effort to wake up the dormant need to succeed and sometimes, all we require is a little 'push'. There might be a lot of obstacles in our way, a lot of constraints. Our circumstances may not always be to our liking but we know that we do not want to miss out. We know that if we can get the clearest possible picture of what we want to do with our lives, then perhaps breaking down the plan to achieve our goals into baby steps, can help us avoid unnecessary regret. The probability of beating the odds climbs up when we start making those tiny changes in a sustained way. We know that there are absolutely no challenges that we cannot face as long as we remain committed and do not give up. This is the driving force that keeps things real for us.
We appreciate that it is never too late to begin trying but we also understand that we have to make hay while the sun shines. We seize every opportunity because our prudence teaches us to make mostly the best of everything: our youth before we reach old age; our health before sickness; our wealth before poverty; our free time before we get busy and most importantly, our life before death. As we go about beating the odds and living our lives to the fullest, we are reminded of these insightful words by the famous American poet, Robert Frost:
"The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep."
