The old and the new..

Updated: Dec 6, 2020

"Old is gold!" How much of it is true? What are our feelings when we present our narrative about that walk down the memory lane? Some of us think that old traditions do not apply to modern life and must be done away with while some believe that old times were better. We know that the past prepared us for our life ahead. Our experiences are unique and we have the freedom to decide if we want to build on them or to start afresh. It appears that learning what to keep and what to let go plays a very important role in clearing the clutter of excessive negativity from our lives. We do not let the conveniences of modern life become a worm hole that sucks us into chaos and fast pace but we use them to make life easy for us.
We acknowledge that there can never be more than 24 hours in a day so, we choose to make most of it by rising early. Gaining a head start in the day has been proven to make us more productive and successful. We understand that from dusk until dawn is a time for restful rejuvenation. "Early to bed and early to rise" might seem like an old thing but we know that it is essential to keep us healthy both mentally and physically. We have the wisdom to pack a useful baggage from both the past and the present as we move on. We pack our learnings, good habits, truth, forgiveness, mindfulness and peace. We leave behind the ignorance, deceit, grudges, fear, greed, rush and selfishness. There is no room for things that tire us and bring us down but there is plenty of hope and strength as we learn to pick and choose. It is not about the old or the new times, for we can identify and keep the "gold" from both..
